Data deletion

This page explains how to delete your Criapost account and the data associated with it, including data obtained through the Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Threads, Facebook and LinkedIn integrations.

How to delete your account

  1. Sign in to Criapost.
  2. Open Settings → Account → Delete account.
  3. Confirm with your password.

Deletion is immediate and cannot be undone. You are signed out of every device.

Signed up with Google or GitHub and never created a password? Create one in Settings → Account first: it is what confirms it is you.

Can't sign in? Write to [email protected] from the email on the account.

Only disconnect Instagram

  • In Criapost: Instagram → Disconnect. The access token, the connection data, the Direct conversations and the stored comments are deleted right away, and pending Instagram schedules are cancelled.
  • In Instagram: under Settings → Security → Apps and websites, remove Criapost. Meta notifies us, and we delete the connection the same way.

Deletion request through Meta

You can also ask for your data to be deleted from Instagram or Facebook themselves. When Meta forwards the request, we delete the connection, the Instagram account data, the Direct conversations and attachments, the stored comments and Meta's identifiers from your post history, and return a confirmation code. With it you can check when the deletion happened at /data-deletion/status?code= followed by the code; Meta gives you the full link. The code is valid for 90 days.

Your Criapost account and the pieces you created remain: they are your content, not Meta data. To delete them, delete the account.

Only disconnect TikTok

Use TikTok → Disconnect. We ask TikTok to revoke access and delete the tokens and connection data. Pending TikTok schedules are cancelled.

Only disconnect YouTube

  • In Criapost: YouTube → Disconnect. We revoke access at Google and immediately delete the tokens and connection data. Pending YouTube schedules are cancelled, and videos already published stay on the channel.
  • At Google: on your Google account permissions page, remove Criapost. The connection stops working right away, and the tokens and stored channel data are deleted within 30 days.

Only disconnect Threads

  • In Criapost: Threads → Disconnect. We immediately delete the token and the connection data, and pending Threads schedules are cancelled. Posts already published stay on Threads.
  • On Threads: on threads.com → Settings → Account → Website permissions, remove Criapost. Meta notifies us, and we delete the connection the same way.
  • Deletion request through Meta: as with Instagram, we delete the connection and the identifiers of the Threads posts from the publication history, and return a confirmation code.

Only disconnect Facebook

  • In Criapost: Facebook → Disconnect. We immediately delete the token and the connection data, remove Criapost's permissions at Meta (unless another brand of yours uses the same Facebook account) and cancel pending Facebook schedules. Posts already published stay on the Page.
  • On Facebook: in Settings → Apps and websites, remove Criapost. Meta notifies us, and we delete the connections of all your brands the same way.
  • Deletion request through Meta: as with Instagram, we delete the connections and the identifiers of the Facebook posts from the publication history, and return a confirmation code.

Only disconnect LinkedIn

  • On Criapost: LinkedIn → Account → Disconnect. We immediately delete the tokens and the connection data, ask LinkedIn to revoke access (unless another of your brands uses the same profile), delete the state of the Page's comments and cancel the pending LinkedIn schedules. Posts already published stay on LinkedIn.
  • On LinkedIn: under Settings → Data privacy → Other applications, remove Criapost. LinkedIn doesn't tell us about that removal: the connection stops working and is deleted up to 7 days after LinkedIn refuses access on a post or read, or after it expires. To delete it right away, also disconnect on Criapost.

Only delete a cloned voice

In Settings → Account → My voices, delete the voice. The sample and the consent sentence recording leave Criapost right away, and the copy of the voice at the provider is discarded. Only the record that consent was given remains (the declared name, the date, the language and the terms version, with the date the voice was deleted), until you delete the account. Narrations already generated with the voice stay in your projects; delete them in Narrations, in the editor's Media tab.

What is deleted with the account

  • Account, brand profile, photo, logo and references.
  • Generated pieces, captions, scripts, text posts, library images, videos, video editor projects, styles and music, auto caption transcriptions, the face positions used by "Follow the person", schedules and reminders.
  • Direct conversations and messages, the attachments sent through it, the stored comments and commented posts and the AI reply knowledge base.
  • The Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Threads, Facebook and LinkedIn connections and access tokens (on TikTok, YouTube, Facebook and LinkedIn, with access revoked), and the state of Threads replies and of YouTube, Facebook and LinkedIn Page comments.
  • Recorded and AI-generated narrations, and cloned voices: the sample, the consent sentence recording and the consent record.
  • Google or GitHub sign-in linked to the account.
  • Sessions, with the IP and user agent stored in them.
  • The days on which the account used Criapost.
  • Subscription data at Criapost (the active subscription is cancelled).
  • Every file of the account.

What is kept, and for how long

  • Anti-fraud hashes: HMAC hashes of the email and the Instagram identifier, pseudonymized with a server secret key, that stop the same person from repeating the free trial. They cannot be turned back into your original data. Kept for 2 years from the start of the free trial.
  • Bug reports: the report text stays without your name and without the screenshots, and is deleted up to 30 days after being resolved.
  • Technical records of sent emails and provider calls, with no content and no link to the account: deleted within 90 days.
  • Backups: your data is removed from backups within 30 days of the deletion.
  • Billing records: kept by the payment processor and by Criapost for the period required by tax law.
